Along with having a email list, one of the best ways to promote these courses and products for musicians is to have your own website. If you have useful information, resources, services or products on your website, you’ll find them more likely to trust you and your recommendations. Then you can recommend us and make money when they buy. 🙂
If you haven’t yet got a website, you can see how to make one easily in this guides I’ve written. Follow that and you’ll have your core website up in less than an hour.
It’s important that you make this website genuinely helpful for musicians, not just a big advert for my products. People will see through this, and likely not trust your recommendations. Provide them with good value however, and they’re a lot more likely to listen to you.
What Should Your Music Website Be About?
So what should you make your website about? Well, anything that musicians would be interested in! Here are some examples:
A website full of resources for musicians. For example, places to record their music, where to buy equipment, where to learn the music business (here you can mention us and add your affiliate links), places to gig etc.
A website where you offer your services to musicians. Can you do graphic design? Or add additional vocals to people’s tracks? If you have any skill musicians would find useful, offer it on your website. Then make extra money from your site by including your affiliate link to my products.
- A blog or website giving advice to them. Similar to the Music Industry How To (MIHT) website. Give them some guides, then tell them to check MIHT (with your affiliate link) for more of the same. There are some blog posts you can use on your site when you login to the resources area. Find them under each of the resources pages.
A forum. So you can have a discussion forum for certain types of musicians, then include your affiliate link in certain parts of this site. Just be sure to not post affiliate links in forums you don’t own as this often isn’t allowed. Only yours if you make one.
A website with tools for musicians. So this could either be tools which you link to from around the internet, or tool you create yourself.
There are other types of websites you can create too, so think outside the box.
Important: Having a website won’t count for anything if you don’t promote it and drive traffic there. Find out how to promote your website here.
